Watching the news this morning, this local family business, focused on outdoor and hunting products, burned to the ground. As a way of possibly helping this family back on their feet, I would like to nominate Sportsman's Outdoor Products in Sandy Utah. http://sophuntinggear.com/

I would nominate Muddy Road Outfitters. Great people who need help with their marketing. http://muddyroad.net/

http://www.splore.org/index.html

Splore is a Utah based non-profit organization that specializes in promoting empowering experiences in an active friendly world through affordable, customized, inclusive recreation and education programs for people of all abilities. Splore ran its first accessible rafting program during the summer of 1977 and for more than 30 years, has served over 40,000 individuals with disabilities including volunteers, care providers, friends and family members. These adventure experiences act as a catalyst towards greater joy, courage, health and community.

My third recommendation for a non-profit institution that is sports related would be the Rickey Reynolds Foundation. Mr. Reynolds was a well known NFL player who now runs a foundation to assist children with sickle cell anemia in the Tampa, Florida area. http://www.rickyreynoldsfoundation.com/

Thanks for making this possible and contributing back a little something to the community.

I'm on a kids kick today. Just to clarify, that is different than "I'm kicking kids today".

How about utahspinabifida.org

Here's what they have to say on their homepage:

"Welcome to Utah Spina Bifida! Our mission is to provide support to any families and individuals who live and work with Spina Bifida. We connect through social activities, encourage development through scholarships and mini-grants, provide education relative to Spina Bifida, and advocate disability awareness."

Hey Kevin,

I live in Daybreak in South Jordan and go to the local gym here. I have watched trainers there and have always been impressed at how great they do with their clients -- they push them very heard and give 100% of their attention. Compare this to most trainers I have seen that are more interested in people-watching than training.

The Fit Club Utah (http://fitclubutah.com)trainers are the real deal. In fact, I am so impressed that I am joining their Boot Camp. So I am glad that I am writing this today while I can still lift my arms up.

Fit Club Utah could use some head-turning imagery to better convey what they are capable of and how hands-on they are. They are a local business and, in this economy, it would be great to see the "little guy" get a break.

No matter which company you pick, thanks for doing this. You, too, are the real deal.

I'm going to send your post to a bunch of friends now...
